Build Playing

Closer to the community!

Based on the results obtained in the socio-economic baseline raised in neighborhoods directly influenced by the plants’ operation in the municipality of Soacha, Cundinamarca, LADRILLERA SANTAFÉ identified that one of the greatest concerns of the population was the free time for children, adolescents and young people, since the consumption of psychoactive substances starts at an earlier age, while problems such as teenage pregnancy, gang activity, among others, increase.

Due to this, and supported by the experience of the Playtime Foundation which works on the life skills of children and young people through sports and artistic activities, LADRILLERA SANTAFÉ established an alliance with the Foundation in October 2017, impacting 134 children between 6 and 17 years old, through the “BUILD PLAYING” program.

Children take soccer, dance and theater classes twice a week; each one receives uniforms, hydration and refreshments. Additionally, every 15 days they receive leadership and good relations classes in order to become positive referents in their communities, so that later they can replicate what they have learned, making the program sustainable.

In general, “BUILD PLAYING” has been very well received and has brought the company closer to its neighboring communities. Children have improved their academic, linguistic, and relational skills, and aggression and intolerance have diminished. This was evidenced in a survey taken in April 2018 to the parents of the beneficiaries of the program
